Gathering friends who live in Montenegro and practice Buddhism—or are interested in it—has long been in the air.
On December 6, 2024, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Thaye Dorje, during his time at the Karmapa International Buddhist Institute (KIBI), gave his blessing to the birth of this new Buddhist group in Montenegro.
Later that month, on December 25, 2024, eight friends gathered for the first meditation session at Dorje Sempa Gomde in Budva, Montenegro.
Since then, we have been holding meditation sessions more or less regularly, and many friends have already joined us.
Most of us are Russian-speaking expats living in Montenegro, but the group is open to everyone.
