About the Teacher

Venerable the 3rd Dupseng Rinpoche is a highly respected lama of the Karma Kagyu lineage. He is a fully qualified vajra master who guides both monastic and lay students through all levels of Buddhadharma practice.
Rinpoche serves as the full retreat master for the traditional Karma Kagyu three-year-and-three-month retreats at Karma Ngedon Palbar Ling Retreat Center in Nepal. He also oversees several monasteries and retreat centers in Nepal. For his lay students, Rinpoche has been actively traveling and teaching for many years. In 2018 he launched a special retreat program for lay yogis based on the curriculum of the traditional three-year retreat, adapted to the realities of modern life.

About Phowa
Phowa is one of the most direct Vajrayana practices for achieving a conscious transition at the moment of death. Known as “the practice of conscious transfer,” it offers a swift path to liberation from samsara. This sacred method brings together the essence of earlier Dharma teachings, all aimed at freeing beings from suffering.
With skillful practice, at the final moment of this life, consciousness is transferred through the Brahma aperture directly to Dewachen — the Pure Land of Buddha Amitabha. There, practitioners enjoy perfect conditions for continued Dharma training and rapid progress toward full awakening.
Among its many practical benefits, the Phowa practice helps dissolve the fear of death and many other fears, harmonizes the energy flows in the subtle body, and brings deep inner confidence.
